Dame Kiri Te Kanawa  (6 de marzo de 1944 - ), es la más famosa soprano de ópera neozelandesa de ascendencia maorí. La soprano está considerado una suprema exponente de su generación en papeles de Mozart y Richard Strauss, con exitosas incursiones en el repertorio de Verdi, Handel y francés. De gran belleza física y porte que la hizo ideal para encarnar princesas, condesas y personajes nobles. Su voz de textura y timbre fácilmente reconocible la convirtieron en una de las máximas divas de los años ochenta.

Roberta Pavanelo tiene una presencia constante en la programación internacional de Radio Universidad de Brigham Young y muy conocido entre los miembros de la iglesia en el sur de Brasil, ya que es oriundo de Paraná, y proviene de una familia prominente muy talento. Roberta asistio a las puertas abierta y la dedicación del Templo SUD en Curitiba.

Este archivo es una compilación de himnos y canciones con interpretación vocal hecha por Roberta Pavanelo, acompañado por el pianista Marvin Goldstein. Los himnos son conocidos, con una interpretación  notable de  esta talentosa soprano, con una diferencia importante: cantado en el  idioma portugues.Descargar CD

Con los años, una serie de misiones del Brasil y el mundo, han sido capaces de aventurarse con su misióneros a través de la música, con el objetivo principal de llevar los himnos de la Iglesia a los miembros e investigadores. Este álbum del  año 2004  es producido por la mision Brasil Ribeirão Preto , con la participación de talentosos misioneros y con la participación especial  de las hermanas Savage ,  Paynter, Ethington ,  Borchardt, Elder Allan , Elder A. Martins y D. Elder Alves.

Los himnos tienen un acompañamiento básico, hecho sobre todo por  piano, pero que, sin embargo, no dejó el álbum menos agradable o interesante. Se cumple muy bien con el objetivo de llevar canciones espirituales a los hogares de los investigadores y siempre se alaban estas iniciativas , para ofrecer música de calidad en el  idioma nativo de las personas. Son 15 temas que forman parte de este álbum, tenemos , "El amor del Salvador", "Quiero ser como Cristo", "La fe Cada Paso" y "Your Hands". Descargar CD

Los Brigham´s es una de las pocas bandas brasileñas  formado por músicos LDS que lograron llegar a un reconocimiento público y seguir en el campo musical. Compuesta por Elton Luz (voz, piano y guitarra), Orlando Custodio (batería) y Alexandre Candido (bass guitar), la banda ofrece una música de excelente calidad y las canciones que hablan de temas comunes a la gente de la Iglesia SUD por todo el mundo .

En este álbum debut, la banda se centra en  composiciones y arreglos en "La música que eleva el alma", es decir, son canciones que tratan de llevar al oyente a acercarse al Padre Eterno y al Salvador. Me gusta especialmente "dos años", que se refiere al llamamiento como misionero de tiempo completo  y el tema “estaca", un homenaje a la fortaleza que podemos encontrar en nuestras unidades de la Iglesia y sus líderes. "Entender" es una obra poética, la cual toca profundamente  los corazones y almas de los que escuchan  este álbum y muestra cómo el grupo trata de ser espiritual en todas las pistas. Visitando la pagina oficial de la iglesia, me encontre con este curso de acompañamiento musical elemental , que permite dar los primeros pasos en el aprendizaje del teclado. Espero que este sea el comienzo de una larga generacion de pianistas, que nos permita tener un buen y especial ambiente en nuestras reuniones.

A por ultimo, en lo relacionado con el tema de musica, encontré como aprender a dirigir himnos en forma interactiva ( en ingles pero igual se aprende por medio de videos ) Ver

El Coro del Tabernáculo  está conformado por los mejores cantantes de la Iglesia, y arduas audiciones se aseguran de que así sea. Aquellos que desean formar parte del Coro del Tabernáculo deben cantar primero en el Coral de la Manzana del Tabernáculo (coro de entrenamiento que se renueva cada 6 meses). Los aplicantes deben estar comprendidos entre las edades de 25 y 55 años, habitar en el área del Valle del Lago Salado, ser miembro de la Iglesia de Jesucristo de los Santos de los Últimos Días y dispuesto a regirse a prácticas rigurosas y los horarios de presentación. El proceso de audición inicia sometiendo una grabación del aplicante cantando sin acompañamiento. Luego el aplicante debe presentar un examen escrito de habilidad músical, la puntuación mínima para aprobar es del 80%. Y finalmente una audición personal en la que debe demostrar su habilidad de leer música, escala vocal y destreza para combinarse con el Coro. Todo el proceso tarda al menos 6 meses. Una vez en el Coro los miembros sirven por un máximo de 20 años (o hasta los 60 años de edad).

El canto del corazón es una oración para el Señor.El canto es una parte espléndida de la adoración de los Santos de los Últimos Días. El canto de nuestros sagrados himnos, escritos por siervos de Dios, produce un efecto poderoso en la conversión de las personas a los principios del Evangelio y en el fomento de la paz y el progreso espiritual. La canción es una oración para el Señor, por cuanto Él ha dicho: “Porque mi alma se deleita en el canto del corazón; sí, la canción de los justos es una oración para mí, y será contestada con una bendición sobre su cabeza” [D. y C. 25:12]. 

Mi alma siempre se ha deleitado en escuchar cantar, lo cual me ha gustado con fervor toda mi vida, y es un placer para mí poder orar hoy al Señor con “el canto del corazón”. Opino que si todos recordamos las palabras del Señor de que la canción de los justos es una oración para Él, y será contestada con una bendición sobre nuestra cabeza, y elevamos con frecuencia nuestras oraciones a nuestro Padre Celestial en las gratas canciones de Sión, haciendo eco con fervor y sinceridad en nuestros corazones a los mensajes que comunica la letra de nuestros hermosos himnos, ciertamente vamos a recibir las bendiciones prometidas, las cuales insto a los santos a procurar obtener. Estoy convencido de que los himnos de Sión, cuando se cantan con el debido espíritu, ejercen una influencia pacífica y celestial en nuestros hogares, y también son útiles en la predicación del Evangelio de Jesucristo.

No hay nada más agradable e inspirador que la música en el hogar, y, desde que aprendí a cantar, por lo general, cantamos un himno en casa todas las mañanas antes de la oración familiar. No hay duda de que una influencia inefablemente grata acompaña al canto de las canciones de Sión, y opino que los santos deben hacer del cantarlas parte de su adoración familiar.

No olvidemos nuestros himnos cuando vayamos a la casa de adoración. Cante la congregación; y, desde luego, familiarícense los miembros del coro con los bellos mensajes que contienen nuestros himnos^.

Gladys Knight es una estrella del R&B y el Soul. Considerada como una leyenda viviente de la musica contemporanea, Gladys ha deleitado a generaciones con su musica desde sus comienzos a principios de los años 50s.

Una vida de exitos  y satisfacciones personales se ha visto reconocida con siete premios Grammy, su inclusion en el "rock and roll hall of fame"  y su propia estrella en el paseo de la fama en hollywood.

Gladys Knight siempre ha irradiado armonia, luz y alegria, sin embargo, en la ultima decada esta se ha intensificado, segun sus propias palabras:

[un miembro de la audiencia me preguntó] "Podria por favor decirnos...cómo es que tiene esa luz?" la pregunta fue directa, de modo que le di una respuesta directa: "He llegado a ser un miembro de la Iglesia de Jesucristo de los Santos de los Ultimos Dias"

La hermana Knight se bautizo en agosto de 1997 y recibio sus investiduras al año siguente.

El 8 de febrero del 2006 gano su mas reciente grammy en la categoria "best gospel album of the year" con el album "One Voice", ejecutado con el coro "Saints Unified Voices".

Coro del Tabernáculo Mormón. Este famoso coro que está compuesto por 360 voces, fue organizado a la llegada de los pioneros  al valle del Lago Salado en 1847. Ha participado en inumerables actuaciones internacionales junto con los artistas más renombrados del mundo entero. Desde 1929 está transmitiendo ininterrrumpidamente desde la Manzana del Templo en Salt Lake City conciertos dominicales.
